Great Awakening Style Conversions

Anyone who has ever studied The Great Awakening knows that the evangelism practiced then and that which passes for evangelism now are radically different. In the modern gospel sin is hardly mentioned. The primary characteristic of God talked about today is that of love. God's wrath and justice are ignored. Hell is ignored as well, and the eternal consequence of disobeying God is said to be some mystical "separation from God." Most of today's converts bear no resemblance to the holy God of the Scriptures or the Lord Jesus Christ. Most in the church today have lives that differ little from those who live for, love, and worship themselves or the world. Have you ever wondered why these things are so? Why do today's "converts" show little or no interest in reading the Bible or prayer? A study of the evangelism of The Great Awakening provides us with answers to these problems. This page is dedicated to providing those answers.
